Mimosa, Clark was the venue of this year's Membership Development Seminar for Cluster 3 and 4 and was hosted by Rotaray Club of Metro San Fernando (P) headed by their Pres. Chris Cura. The Philippine Ruie - Dragon Dance group welcomed the delegates. More than 300 Rotarians from Clusters 3 and 4 were present and anxious to learn more about this year's theme: Rediscovering Rotary. Going Back to Basics", wherein District Trainor PDG Mark Go and the Zone Coordinators PDG Oyan Villanueva, PDG Ernesto "Ernie" Choa, PDG Michael "Mike" Macatangay and PP Ramon "Mon" Dacayo discussed topics that enhanced the membership of each club.
District Governor Dennis Go opened the program with his message, focusing on how our organization and its members can exemplify through the values of Rotary - Fellowship, Service, Integrity, Leadership and Diversity. He also shared the concept of "Thinking Outside the Box", we should be able to go with new trends, try to do untraditional way of implementing service projects and meetings by being revolutionary in our approaches, and know the people inside the organization. Members are the greatest asset and source of strength of the Rotary.
Every year the district holds membership development seminar and every year we have good speakers who talk about ways on how we can strengthen our membership and become a stronger club. PP Jerry Parlan was the first speaker and discussed - What we are up to this? It's all about the district goals like becoming 1 of the top 30 districts worldwide and increase 10 members per club and bringing out the best in members. Zone coordinators followed and talked about - Attracting and Retaining: Rediscover Rotary by improving skills and competency that will deliver results. Leveraging Technology: make use of technology like having access to My Rotary Portal. Life cycle of a Service Project: having a signature project.
Bataan Association of Rotary Clubs has a good number of attendees. Assistant Governor Maria Elizabeth Salvador was overwhelmed with the effort and participation of all the Rotary Clubs in Bataan. The event was not all talk, to bring added delight to the audience, Poloso Kapampangan a comedy duo brought laughter to the crowd, Ms. Catherine Bartolome and popular artist Black Jack rendered songs. For icebreaker, the host club had a raffle draw and some rotarians from Bataan won and Rotary Club of Orani 2 members took home the major prizes. Flat Screen TV.
Overall the program was full of interesting topics and points that will truly help the organization in terms of membership. May we continue to build a stronger club, a stronger district and a stronger Rotary. May we also inspire our community and attract them to Rotary.
