THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND GRANTS SEMINAR

Last August 20, members of the Rotary Clubs of D3790 gathered and attended The Rotary Foundation Seminar at Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan, hosted by the Rotary Club of Binmaley.

The seminar was opened by District Gov. Raul Peralta, who also encouraged his fellow Rotarians to do everyones part to achieve this year’s TRF goals.

It was further explained by the Regional Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Jess Nicdao who gave the updates on TRF. He gave us the district’s TRF goal of $400,00.00. According to him, it is attainable especially if all clubs will contribute to TRF. He also encouraged Rotarians to be a Benefactor. Being benefactor means leaving ay least $1,000.00 to TRF in his will, much easier than being a part of Bequest Society who needs to leave at least $10,000.00.

The seminar participants were then grouped into three for the breakout sessions. TRF Appreciations and Recognitions was tackled by the Dist. Chair on Stewardship PDG Vitt Guttierez. Stewadrship and Financial Management was explained by Asst. Regional Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Mike Lirio. Grant Management was explained by Regional Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Jess Nicdao. Applying for Global Grants was taught to us step by step by PDG Linda Winter, PP Glo Nethercutt, and PP Chie Galura.

The core of the seminar is encourage all clubs to continue its dedication to contribute to the
Rotary Foundation. But it does not stop with the club contributions. As a club, we are committing a disservice to our community if we do not apply for a global grant. Minimum project cost of $30,000.00 will create a big positive impact to our community.
