The smell of vanilla and chocolate
filled the room when Rtn. Nina Salvador gave her classification talk to the
Rotary Club of Limay members. This was
held at Pres. Lira Feliciano’s kitchen last September 16, 2014.
Rtn. Nina shared how her passion
for baking later on out to be her bread and butter. She enjoys every bit of her
business, as this became the outlet of her creativity.
Since she was young, she always
baked for her family and friends. This is usually her Christmas gift for them.
Then she was getting requests from them to bake for them. Then she was able to
get referrals and clients.
She talked about the pros and cons
of having a bakery. The main advantage is as mentioned above and one of the
disadvantages is that different people have different taste, so she has to
adjust every time to suit he client’s palate.
After the talk, she conducted an
icing demo. Nina showed them how to make a simple white chocolate ganache
icing. The fun started when the members iced their own cupcakes in different
techniques and design.
