Limay, Bataan (August 11, 2014)-
The Rotary Club of Limay (RC Limay) embarks on the first day of their feeding
program at Duale Elementary School with 55 severely wasted
(malnourished/underweight) school children, ages 6-12 years of age but majority
is within the 6-8 years of age.
The project coined as “Isang
Ngiti, Isang Ligaya, Isang Nutrisyon” will provide nutritious and well-planned
snack for 120 school days. This is the 2nd consecutive year that RC
Limay will engage in this kind of endeavor. Last year, RC Limay, helped 28
school children achieve their normal weight and become productive individuals
at Peas Elementary School.
The feeding program will showcase
the collaborative efforts from the mothers of the feeding scholars, the school
and the municipal health office. It will involve seminar to the marginalized
parents especially the mothers on proper nutrition, free medical check-up and
medical aid to the children and other related programs on health like proper
hand washing and dental care.
